Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gaming is not legal. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are for all intents and purposes needed to cross, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that features many luxuries aside from the gambling hall, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 table games.
