Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, where casino betting is not legal. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes required to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge casino, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are one hundred and fifty slots and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and sixty six of the normal gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that features a number of conveniences accompanying the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
