Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, in which casino gambling is against the law. Eight gambling halls are based in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent spot, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship casino, contains 150 one armed bandits and 60 table games. The Naga river boat never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that features a number of conveniences accompanying the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
